Weight Watchers

Last night I started Weight Watchers. Well, let me rephrase that...I joined Weight Watchers, after which I promptly came home, bbq'd a steak and made a great, big, green salad smothered in ranch dressing. It was SO good! Today I started Weight Watchers.

I initially joined Weight Watchers six years ago and lost almost 35 pounds. I followed the program faithfully, and once I was to goal and became a lifetime member, I was asked to join the staff at our local meeting. In hindsight, it was probably a mistake. I no longer attended the meetings and the pounds started creeping back on. Within a year I had gained back about ten pounds. Eventually I went to work at another job and quit my Weight Watchers job. Now, six years later, I weigh more than I ever have in my life, even when I was pregnant. I'm not real happy about that.

So, once again, I'm trying to make some changes in my life that will be to my lasting benefit. (Lasting, that's the key word here.) It hasn't been an easy start. After that huge meal last night I woke up feeling puffy and achy and just generally lousy. I did good today, though, and stayed on program and right on my "points" target. I'm a little hungry, but I'm going to bed early, so I'll be fine. This isn't going to be easy, but I keep telling myself I have to do it, for my health. Maybe someday I'll even post "before" and "after" photos.

You go girl!

I so want to do that. I quit smoking and went through menopause at the same time. My body said "Girl have you lost your mind? You cannot take the nicotene while I am having power surges. I will show you!" So body gave me 30 pounds and refuses to let them go. Thought about WW and currently eat thier TV dinners (good) with the points. Not sure about weighing in front of a bunch of people and definitely do not want to be harassed because I did not loose weight.

The weighing in isn't bad. They don't even say your weight out loud, just show it to you, but usually you can tell if someone last lost or gained weight. We never harassed anyone if they didn't lose, just encouraged them to keep trying, although I can't really speak for other meetings. Give it a try! OR, you can register online thru their e-tools program, i think, and work the program in the privacy of your own home.

Thanks for the comment on my blog! I'm so happy to find yours. Another blog friend. :-) My in-laws both swear by WW. When I'm ready to lose this baby weight, I will probably be looking to WW for help too. Best of luck to you.

I've thought about doing something like this after Cohen is born. I would like to be able to lose my weight from both boys! It just seems so expensive to me...but I think the accountability and structure would be great for me.
Keep us updated, maybe it'll motivate me to join. :)
